That’s what friends are for We have all been there. Those moments when you are stressed out about work, studying, money, boyfriend-trouble, and basically about your life in general… But even in those depressing times (occasionally being a drama queen is healthy), they are always there for you. Friends.
Sometimes it’s useful to think of the things you do have, instead of those you don’t. And what is more valuable than friendship? When I was younger, I went on a trip to South America to learn Spanish. I remember freaking out before leaving over not making any friends. I had the sad lonely-vacation scenario completely thought out in my mind… My dad reminded me that you do not need tons of people to have a good time; it’s about quality, not quantity! And sure enough, two friends made the trip unforgettable. Lesson learned from papa Tsetis.
‘Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart’ – Eleanor Roosevelt
It seems like everyone is only getting busier and busier, often forgetting the things that really matter in life. No matter where I am, or what I am doing, I always try to spend as much time with my girlfriends as possible. Even when our schedules don’t match at all, we really try to make room for each other. We can go weeks without meeting, and it will be as if no time has gone by when we finally do go for dinner. I think this sounds familiar to you guys… I wanted to write about this topic (as so many have done before) because it is easy to get caught up in unimportant matters, and even easier to take your girls for granted. So let’s all take a moment to value your bff’s, give them a call and grab a drink, laugh, and celebrate friendship!
